The PIANALE Piano Academy is one of the most successful combinations between piano master classes, musicians’ language courses and a range of public concerts. In close association with the Landesmusikakademie Hessen and Inlingua Language School (Fulda), PIANALE provides musicians with the best possible framework for advanced coaching and career planning. In addition to advanced musical training based on master classes and practice time on their instrument, music students from Germany and abroad will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of foreign languages or learn new ones.

The aim is twofold: on one hand to put the students’ repertoire to the test and to enhance their stage presence and their impact on the audience; on the other hand to provide the students with an opportunity to gain or improve language skills that will help them to work successfully abroad. The rooms and facilities of the Landesmusikakademie Hessen which is based at Schloss Hallenburg in Schlitz offer a unique professional setting. All the numerous practising rooms are equipped with new upright and grand pianos by the renowned German piano manufacturer Steingraeber & Söhne.
 
The piano interpretation courses are led by internationally acclaimed teachers and concert pianists who share the common goal of developing students’ piano technique (through different teaching methods) to the point where listeners will be affected by the music and its interpretation as if by a language.

Through its professional language training, Inlingua, a Fulda-based language school, offers students an opportunity to develop their foreign language skills and prepare for further study abroad or international exchange programmes such as the Erasmus programme, the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst and Fulbright scholarships.
 
PIANALE’s series of concerts ”Schlosskonzerte Osthessen“ provides young musicians with a high-standard performance platform. The students are entitled to give at least one concert during the course. The closing concert will be given by the best PIANALE students. All of them receive scholarships and concert engagements. The winner will be awarded the “Spätlese-Tage-Fulda” music prize.
 
The 2014 PIANALE piano interpretation courses will be led by Prof. Justas Dvarionas, Prof. Akiko Ebi, Prof. Jun Kanno, Prof. Matti Raekallio, Prof. Friedemann Rieger and Prof. Uta Weyand.
